I made the syringe as a metaphor: Delivering facts as a vaccine against harmful misinformation, targeting specific, systemic falsehoods with pinpoint accuracy,
and injecting necessary, sometimes painful truths to begin a process of recovery and justice.
Yesterdays action was a call for truth telling and “To DEMAND THE RELEASE OF GAZA’s HERO PEDIATRIC DOCTOR HUSSAM ABU SAFIYA!!”
A collective action alongside Doctors Against Genocide gathered on the steps of the New York Public Library and advocated for human rights and demanded the release of DOCTOR HUSSAM ABU SAFIYA.
For me, mobilization is rooted in the fundamental principle that speaking truth is an essential act of resistance against the ongoing genocide. Grounded in the philosophical truth that freedom cannot exist without accountability, I stood with comrades to demand immediate humanitarian relief, systemic transparency, and an end to targeted violence against civilians and healthcare infrastructure.

There is no freedom without truth, and simply speaking the truth is an act of resistance. “
We joined Doctors Against Genocide to ensure that these realities are not obscured, and that human lives are prioritized above political interests. The action aimed to raise urgent public awareness regarding ongoing humanitarian crises and to compel international bodies and local leaders to take decisive, ethical action. Organizers called upon “all real press, documenters and representatives to answer this urgent call! @rep_velazquez can we count on you? You have stood strong for Palestine, show up in person!”
