Artworks featured at SPRING/BREAK NYC 2022 by Gwendolyn C Skaggs:

COURAGE (The Freedom Grill)
“I brought you flowers, man.” (Bartering with life)
SILENCE IS VIOLENCE
A Mirror of Dread (Narcissus: The Narcissist’s Mirror)

"This art collection is inspired by the struggles and triumphs of the millions of people, primarily women and children, but also men and people of non-binary gender identity who fall victim to Domestic Violence each year. At the foundation of domestic abuse and Intimate Partner Violence is the exercise of power of one partner over another in an effort to dominate, subjugate and control. Where we once thought of Domestic Abuse in terms of physically violent incidents, we now see that Coercive Control is the more common form of domestic abuse, in which tactics of psychological, financial, legal, sexual, as well as physical abuse are employed. We've also come to understand that children are directly harmed by this pattern of abuse."
